i want to breech infinity

i want to breech 
cross my earth's horizon and reach
 
to see the glory of God 
in all sectors of the sky and space
beyond each star field 
beyond my naked view 
through the many star clouds 
so many
so many of them
on and on beyond my imagination,
universes of them 
reflecting back to this, our earth
 
as i gaze up 
i see midnight blues of every hue 
with sparks of purest white 
set in velvet blue
suspended in the intergalactic,
scattered on the concave,
stretched across the celestial plane
everywhere, 
every direction 
splashed across the unfathomable distance,
across infinite invisible latitudes 
and radii of longitudes moving across
to never reach forever,
that dizzy the imagination, 
that dwarfs my mind 
to feeble acquiescence 

the fallen snow on the highest peaks,
pulls me back to stark earth
that looks the blue of cold,
it's frigid there like the space
i want to reach across to me, 
and get there with my hand 
to hold it here 
with no fear 

my flesh is weak, the air is thin,
I want to see everything 
i cannot climb, i'd freeze
i want to reach across, 
and touch the highest height 
of sky and space
and touch the hem 
of his throne 

i want to feel his love 
in lowliness, 
and see his face 
in the beauty 
of the scene before me

to feel the warmth of what is 
what is rest
what is peace
what is real lasting love
the easy breath of quiet awe
made by his pure and holy hand 
enough to make me weep

i cannot do 
i can see but little
I can only imagine
can never hold
'tis enough to weep
