Beauty lies in perceptionA Poem by RuseInex
I found a Swedish beauty
her hair was blond and braided like golden straw She was heavy and rotund and felt self conscience about it But she was fine 'Cause she was young Still young and down on herself even though her face was a stunning pretty Eyes of pastel grey so beautiful and sharp They could easily pierce the dark and my own flesh And see right through me That made me fall in love for her Fell in love with the beauty of her being Her presence, her strength of mind that pervaded her space The space i found myself in The place i was overtaken in I fell for her and her exotic scandanavian way which i found alluring Even though she self depreciated herself made her the more sexually beautiful even though she was what the west calls obese and yet, i think, it's not overweight so much, as it is aging body and organs giving out looking to the future as if the future is what really matters here She saw a thin, long stilted beauty walk in with olive skin Her stiletto heels rocked the place and turned all heads She looked at her, this Swedish beauty Then looked back at her friend and shook her own head Back in forth as in, "Wow!" As in, "Really?" As in, "Figures," of mock disgust . . . her friend understood with a patronizing look I felt for her and gave her a double take Yeah, it would be fine for you to be thin But you're not And right now, your rotund rounds of body Around your midriff Your thighs especially as you stood to leave Your bum so very round and firm Would make for perfect leisure love in the colds Around a hearth around a fire in the frozen north Surrounded by fjords and icebergs Who would care? who would dare to judge you? Your company is fine So womanly, so practical So unassuming No one to compare with there only those that live there why compare? Just you and me And the frozen north Where its fine to have loving company A warm body to love and hold To love © 2017 RuseInex |
