where you goin'?A Poem by RuseInex
You're not on the mountaintop
you're not in Disneyland, you're definitely not in Kansas you're not in the remote parts of a desert, the place you love to get away from civilization, so-called you need a break you have nothing to live for at the moment, so you live from sunup to sundown in your head, at the moment looking for meaning you get it here and there, it's brief, but at least you get it so you live for love you live for feeling loved You like to love no strings attached what else is there? you need help from above to make it through 'cuz it ain't easy i see a pretty girl extremely pretty and curvaceous i can smell hormones through the windshield sends your hormones raging you want, some of it, want it bad you forget about philosophy you live for the day you live for the moment you live for the day you don't care about getting away you forget the pain and fall in the rut again and then you get hungry for love again if it's going well and it's got your interest and you just want to go with the flow and enjoy it, then it's worth living like a good steak and baked potato with melted butter and cold sour cream you're thankful, for now you go to bed to get up in the morning sun up, sun down it's you and the monotony again the monotony of life its routine looking for me looking for love maybe you don't find it today you keep looking looking and asking for help from above the woman you saw is well-endowed you move on looking for love you see a frail old lady crossing the parking lot back to her car out of the doctors' suites adjacent to you she really does need some help she's shaking and feeble not endowed she had her time now it's your turn to love her and help her across the divide you do and instantly feel better you feel the dross rise and dissipate away you found some love you found some meaning you can feel God's voice, "well done," sound from above, felt in your inner being from above, sun-up, sun-down another day another day gone looking for meaning looking for love looking for a break from the pain that comes living on this planet we know escape from here is impossible you let your mind carry you away you long for blue and green and blue and solitude you long for sweet music you hear it and you're thankful the stillness of the air is far away from civilization so called as the din of noise slides and carries you forcefully in the city traffic and a shout and a curse and a swerve and the techno pulse of annoying living in the city, in a hurry to get nowhere from here to there I get around held prisoner by the traffic lights, you and me by the red, green and yellow dots of intersection lights we're not really free, making us to running through the yellow for the green and stop and stop and go and stop and stop you think you're free 'cause you have a Lamborghini, a Maserati, or firebird? your earthbound just like me the guy on the road bike is a bit more at liberty to run the reds brown green and blue and solitude sweet music in the stillness of the air far away from civilization, so called from the din of noise of the city swerve and burst with the noise and a hurry to get nowhere from here to there it's exact if you have to get to work for the boss man or woman held captive prisoner by the traffic lights red green green red yellow red red yellow run it through run through it to get nowhere fast make the stop bring it to a screech and stop i say, make it screech gun the accelerator and head for the backroads of santa fe, new mexico © 2017 RuseInex |
