hellish house

hellish house

A Poem by RuseInex

A house stands upon a shady hill

white tongue and grooves are its walls

painted quite a while ago

but for its black window frames and eaves

its two tone colors change only at the glare of moon

under murky night,

under sky filled with faint stars

full of greying mists

that makes it stark the more and frightful still

to enter within its forlorn 'an lonely domain

requires the strength of courage not easy found

within the heart of ordinary man

for all who know its notoriety and evil fame

avoid even a distant walk within eye shot's gain

for from those walls on given night

emits a frightful bone chilling sound

in par with shrieking crying sounds of moans

blood curdling vibes fill the passerby's sight

so much so, terror grips to paralyze the stoutest might

to frozen stand released only by angelic command

from heaven above whose watch of mercy stands

to subdue the devil's hand

else further more

heinous deeds would more be done

granting hell a greater hold

on  victims whose lives be guarded from spills of blood

and hell's release of more varied spawn, devil's minion

the house that stands upon yonder's shady hill

was built long ago

as far back when legends told

of a wicked man and wife

learned to work with evil's strife

against those innocent below the hill

who lived in the valley far below

by day and far into the night

they partook of necromancy and sacrifice

til their basement filled with zombie corpses,

at night they'd release to roam upon every hill

while sending some to the valley down below

one such creature dead it stalked

intruded upon the home of a fair lass in bed

whose virgin form of silken skin and fair of hair

was corruptly violated by unearthly breed

the townsfolk of that vicinity regrouped

with vengeful fearlessness borne of indignation

due the morbid work of remorseless walking dead

they ascended the hill

upon which stood the house that stood on shady hill

with pitchfork, rope and burning torches to light their way

in mass they stormed the house that stood on shady hill

and sought its occupants to kill

upon which time the two within

having surmised the outcome of their demise

at the fired hearts of the milling crowd

lifted high with bats of wings

hoovered suspended for a while

regurgitating bile

then in a flash of instant speed

transformed by cloak of fiery red and sulfur smoke

they pierced the earth with cries of hate

descending to its core intent

met by the fiends of the bottomless pit

spirit toads with gaping maws of mouth

fallen angels black as pitch

screeching rabble raucous din

filled the townsfolk with utter fear

mortified

some died

by stroke

until

a mighty angel in flaming white

descended from heaven high

and sealed the open core

leading to the pit of hell

the earth did rumble

as the people stumbled

they then took heart

the townspeople undeterred did start,

proceeded to torch the house

but were stopped restrained by heaven's gates

were boldly told

to return to their homes

the house that stands upon yonder shady hill

was turned

into a home for a girl named lizzy

to live with her folks,

the family of borden
