obsolete

obsolete

A Poem by RuseInex

i used to have an encyclopedia set(s)
as time went on by and bye
they became obsolete
their cost unjustified to their value
as was the case with newspapers,
mailed letters, expensive stamps,
their near demise looms near
as was and is the same with
my in house wall phone,
it's gone
which indeed did outlast the phone booth
but was quick removed when my cell phone
evolved from a wet cell, 3 pound one,
weighed a ton
to my smart phone compared,
which can do just about anything
except scratch my back,
. . . but it does vibrate,
things like that

app for this, app for that
all things will become obsolete
except my cell phone,
it will continue to improvement
which will soon be capable of making love
although in some sense it does now,
. . . platonically

. . . as i ponder and reflect
the art of speech may be next
it may one day be obsolete
