i heard the voice of God in your voice
in the prairie air your song, your singing sheer a crying, a wail of supreme sadness, pure like crystal transparent clear its pitch of resonance every auditory cell in my inner ear wanted you, every cellular/knit component fiber of what is me, the who, the soul of what is me by your voice, i wanted the you that divinity proclaims is you who created you utterly woman your vocal chords are magic delight which no man can produce lifted my spirit in ecstatic delight which no man can do without like helen of troy bathsheeba of solomon eve of adam for whom he gave his very soul as ransom for companionship rather than banishment your voice woman, your other-world soprano/ alto, it made my soul wail in overwhelming sadness/joyfulness emulsified my soul flowed along on a river of liquid sound i was transfixed, my soul's breaking by the sounds emanating your song in me produced an inner howl for you, like a wolf wailing up at the moon i wanted to crawl inside you and be a part of you a silent howling on a prairie night stuck in my heart making it break a lead weight, wanting your voice to never end 'til my heart broke, it was samson's hair, delilah's strength and weakness as you are mine, your singing i melted, i melted, became your own waves of sound, you carried me aloft away, drifting, sailing on silken music sheets lost in oblivion the pitch of notes rising, bouncing touching hard and soft upon distant cliffs surrounding floating waves echoing sweet, soaked by a yellow moon overhead over the ghosts of native american graves and fallen souls over fair maidens of long ago singing to their loves, bright silver stars like you i reach out to feel for you, i cannot hold with my hands you slip through i fight to hold back tears © 2017 RuseInex |
