exit rideA Poem by RuseInexshe looked at her watch, it was a half past the dawn a frenzied ride through the chrome and glass jungle her impulse was being late, to hit the parking brake to jump into the middle of the passing lane instead she let her mind to dream and soon forgot the noise she drove in auto mode through the traffic zones lost she was in garden groves in midst of tropic trees on sandy shore she looked into the deep blue sea and fed her hungry eyes in waves its scents of salt and jellyfish, its cold, its ocean's breeze the crabs playing near anemones, hiding snails in their folds the toll of bridge and rushing wheels, swerving curves and honking horns human sea of stoic faces behind every windshield screen those twists and turns like melting wax in erratic feels her mental bends made her scream internally she pulled off the next nearest ramp abandoned her cramp of metal bubble steed she called her son to pick her up her racing heart with broiling skin, jaded struck hiding ozone air in spoiled brownish clouds in LA's southmost latitude made her lungs to sear he picked her up in a 7 eleven, drove her to the LA X there she boarded the last departure next nearest flight to the Galapagos © 2016 RuseInex |
