start again

start again

A Poem by RuseInex

i saw my world come crashing in

my life it sped as in a flash

as i stumbled in the dark

while on the journey home, i let

the flare of light; it lit a spark

my bones and joints ached in the ground

i looked around; it could not be found

as i reached for the only warmth;

it came through the cold window sill

in the early morning dawn

i lay in mid mind's sleep

my wits i guided by my last kept wits

and on my way back home i spilt,

my half finished memories submit,

to the helpless love, still

in the folds of my clutching fists

the sky, the sun, the field's smell

the earth it lifted itself to me,

my young life's past,

my journeys on this unstable land

here i find myself,

a prostrate heap of flesh and blood

yield again to the pull and drag

of yet another fold,

within another crumpled page

the turn of yet another day, another thought

another way to me it brought

today i am

and meditate how very glad,

that it's not too late to start again
