give me someA Poem by RuseInexjust a little bit, a tiny piece of life give it to me, please share it let me drink it, swallow this elixir this nectar called life, life everlasting let it last, make it last hold at bay aging cells, diminishing stem cells keep the light in me bright, no decay this candle that is my life, let it burn burn bright despite the night let it burn in the face of terror ponce de leon searched in vain for a fountain, a spring of water for life eternal he never found it on this earth, intrinsically we feel it does not exist inherently we know it is possible, must be a phenomenon common conceivable, obtainable, . . . science research assists to prolong a bit longer our longevity, for some, but not much past the average of eighty or so years still filled with pains physical, mental, spiritual for some, life extended borne of medicine, improved quality of restful life through leisure shelter from nature's storms something's burning here it comes, accident waits like russian roulette it waits for us like sudden death, muscle seizure of the heart, a scattered violent act, not so nice at home or on the world's stage like in nice caught in the crossfire between man whim madness and machines just a little bit, a tiny piece of life give it to me, please share it let me drink it, swallow this elixir this nectar of life, life everlasting let it last, make it last even in the heat of day in heat of dire news, anguished jolts of unexpected threats even with the vex of problems faced, problems solved even then, life is sweet, another breath, another joy right through the pierce of heart right through from the terror of one side to the other right into your bed at night for temporal repose the taste of life, awareness of being to be i am i am here i drink, i eat, i laugh, i play, i see, i feel i am though only for a little while when my light be extinquished suddenly, or slowly over time in my sleep, in my bed awake aware, at rest, or task fade away, drop into sleep awake into another day, another place a different light, a different life just a little bit, a tiny piece of life give it to me, please share it let me drink it, swallow this elixir this nectar of life, life everlasting let it last, make it last wake me in it share me with it © 2016 RuseInex |
