are insects capable of love and loving?

"

Hello, fellow insects and interested people. My name is ladybug, although I'm far from being near a lady except for the times I get intimate with that gender. I'm a male bug. Maybe on a funny note, you'd call me Manbug. Enough stab at humor. I'm in love with a human girl. Our relationship is great and growing.

Most insects know about humans, that is they're aware of insecticides' dangers and such. I am. And I do my best to avoid notice of the species. But it's hard to ignore the lovely ladygirl who frequents my garden. Actually, it's hers; she tends to it on a regular basis. I have an infatuation for her, actually, it started that way, but now it's turned into, I think love. I'll leave it to you philosopher/psychiatrists out there to decide if its even possible to determine whether an insect, slash bug is capable of loving a member of the homo sapiens family.

Back to the point. It all started with Ladygirl walking into my garden, which of course belongs to her. Most of you probably know that us ladybugs are predatory; we hunt bugs you call pests and devour them, excuse me - eat them. You like that. It keeps your plants' leaves healthy.

Ladygirl walks in through the garden gate. And let me tell you. Wow. Beautiful. Her hair glowing in the mid day sunshine. Bright, lovely smile. Warm disposition.

But it wasn't this way in the beginning. I was just an ordinary bug to her, I think. I wonder if she took notice of me at first. I mean, do you know what us ladybugs look like at first? We're pretty scary looking. I'm sure she'd recoil at my appearance. Most girls would freak if they knew what us ladybugs look like before we transform. It's magical, like frog to prince. But its not fantasy I'm telling you. It's real. I've got a techno bug friend who Googled Ladybug nymph for me.

We fit in with Cinderella's pumpkin and mouse transformation. It's like the story of my friend frog who wants to be kissed by a girl. Not easy kissing an wet, cold frog is it ladies?

We don't look a thing like a ladybug. We transform from what most human girls would find scary. We look like freaky reptilian-looking things to . . . well, not tryin' to be conceited, but to attractive bugs. Some of us have spots. Some of us, like me, are a shiny dome shaped, bright red shell with jet black legs and head. That's me. I think that's what attracted me to her. I'm glad I'm not one of those with a yellow body and black spots - not classy ladybug, just sayin'.

The day we met . . . yes, the day we met. It was quite coincidental actually. I'm so glad it happened. I took flight in search of aphids, my favorite food. I landed on her forearm. She's got beautifully soft skin. Her freckles are exquisitely patterned and arousing. I can still feel her index finger's sweet caress, the scent of her skin, her liquid sweet honey voice as she spoke.

     "Oh look! It's a ladybug!"

No one . . . there weren't any other human's there at the time, just me and her. No one but us. The two of us. So closely intimate. Skin to skin. Okay, okay for you purists out there, Skin to exoskeleton. Happy? Takes a bit of the intimacy out of things don't you think? It was so arousing.

I'm not considering the other bugs that may have heard. I don't care. I was lost in the moment. She was talking to me!

Then she whispered. The most romantic thing I think a bug could ever hear.

"Ladybug, Ladybug, fly away home, your house is on fire, your children are  gone . .  "

I was swept away. Love sick. These are the few words to her lyrics I heard in my enraptured state. I remember her singing verse after verse lost in the moment. Sexy voice. A female's voice can be incredibly arousing. It was until . . . damn! It was like, slam! Bamm! Thank you Ma'm!

     "Okay fly away."

I don't quite understand why she told me to fly away. She sang the song twice and told me to fly away again at the end of singing the second time. When I didn't fly away, she shooed me away with a flick of her finger. My feelings were hurt when her finger made me lose my footing. So I did. I flew away. I thought, "What an ice queen! Fickle. It's okay. Makes her sexier.

But we've rendezvoused various times since then. It's spring time y'know. Love is in the air. My ladydude friends are jealous. My ladybug girl friend is not speaking to me, but it's okay. Her last words to me were about an illicit affair. But, I don't care. Forbidden love is sweet. I've found love with a human girl. I can hardly wait for our next liaison.

She's complimented me on my looks and job.

"Oh, you're so pretty. Now fly away home and catch more bugs."

I'll do anything for her. So now when she says to fly away, I'm not hurt at all. It is my job y'know. We've got a great relationship.

Here she comes again! Oh yeah, if your interested in the song she croons - I've got a friend who gave me a link to it, check it out: https://youtu.be/1ZzmsksGY8A . And here's another: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ladybird_Ladybird .

Gotta go and do my job now. Thanks for listening.
