. . . hush, the universe

. . . hush, the universe

A Poem by RuseInex
"

super the natural

"

a bell rang loud over the universe this morning

followed by a silver chime ring

reverberating across created vastness

expansion of universe slowed

almost stopped outward flow

some heard it, others not

all felt its vibration of release,

cosmic explosive energy indescribable

immeasurable, powerful it sounded

then silence

isaac newton rolled in his grave

the world's living contents stirred in wonder

some stopped and pondered

some inspired, others retired

hubble's telescope reflected a distant object

in far reaches of a pin prick portion of space

approaching

a trumpet sounded mighty

invisible energy like truth sounded

came from the heavens, shook the earth

skies rolled back like a scroll

atmosphere ignited,

einstein rolled over in his grave

some ran for cover, some resumed sleep,

pulled their vault curtains shut

spun the combination lock, shocked

carapaced the conscience

clocks stood still, time stopped

nebuchadnezzar, king of babylon

rolled over in his grave

in unseen corners of creation throughout

angels 'n demons trembled

earth stood still, sun wavered and shook too

like two drunken orbs, obeisance his command

then silence

silence hushed itself

announcing truth
