slivers of light heal my soulA Poem by RuseInexlight, so wondrous, like so many other natural phenomenon, often taken for granted
green grass, moss, tinkling beads silver sparkles
dew lit up in morning sun scattered slivers, streaks of fine glass like tiny spears striking the devices called eyes they fill, saturate, and quench their thirst but still want more, my eyes want more light, cannot get their fill i stare and stare, eye candy, these reflections of silver light on dew drops, i move my head to change the angle and the needle slivers of mercury flash photons at speed of light quench my mind’s thirst i dare not look away, for if i do i know darkness will blind my soul again dare i turn away, sadness’ fatigue will crush my bones break my strength, lose my way green grass, moss, tinkling beads silver sparkles dew lit up in morning sun blazing mirrors inside my soul i’m standing here ’til the sun burns it off i’m going to close my eyes i’m going to memorize and keep those wet beads that sent silver slivers rays of light i need to heal my broken soul © 2016 RuseInex |
