“Mommy why do hydrogen bombs go off on that planet?” Asked Zelklanzt.
“Honey that race of beings does not understand. They have been visited by the creator’s son long ago and they killed him.” “How mommy?” “They hung him on a wooden form.” “What did he do to deserve such punishment?” “By the universal standards of goodness, truth and justice, he did nothing deserving of death. He visited the planet they call earth teaching love, justice and rightful living. He healed their sick, raised their dead. . . ” “And they killed him for that Mom?” “Yes honey, many others too who followed after him crying for peace and love.” Like who mom? “One they called Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King . . . ” “Did they kill them too Mom?” “Yes honey, now it’s time for you to go to bed.” “Can I see that planet Mom?” “Okay, then off to bed for you.” Zelklanzt jumped up from the floor and ran next to his mother. They gazed through the transparent display hovering above the kitchen floor. With telepathic dexterity his mother interfaced with the Milky Way Galaxy, 123,000,000 Light Years distant from their planet, Soldren. An image of earth appeared on the halographic image. “Mom, the planet’s beautiful. It looks like a blue marble.” “Yes, it does Zelklanzt. Our people would like to teach the earthlings the virtues of love and peace by proper conduct, but have decided that they are beyond reformation.” “What does this mean Mom? “It means that if we were to visit their planet, they would immediately wage war upon us. They would treat us with suspicion based on fear and insecurity. They have constant international strife . . . ” “What is international strife? “Their world is partitioned into countries, states and territories. They wage continual wars based on ethnicity and greed.” “What is greed? “A lust for things that you don’t need or covet despite having sufficient quantities of those things.” “We never need anything Mom.” “Earthlings fight for gold, oil and power. Earth leaders want to control their own people with these things.” “You mean they won’t share?” “Many do, but some won’t” “That’s sad Mom.” “Yes it’s, . . .” “Mom, why are those babies sitting in the dust in the continent they call Africa? “They are hungry . . . now it’s time for you to go to bed and . . . ” “Mom, no one on our planet is ever hungry. Look many people are suffering in Calcutta, India, Mexico, Europe, everywhere Mom and there’s pollution . . . ” “Okay, let’s go to bed.” “I want to travel to earth and help Mom.” Zelklanzt’s mother ceased telepathic interface with the image of earth. She and her son went off to bed. All was peacefulness in their home, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. All was at peace in the galaxy. Stars twinkled above Soldren’s sky. © 2015 RuseInex |
