Aging

Aging

A Poem by RuseInex
"

aging in the physical sense is taken as a given part of life, part of a cycle, put eloquently, yet it has it's unpleasant elements

"

aging is good to grow 'n mature, wise and such

it is a disease not meant to be

"let's grow old together,"romantically said

two in love hinged upon this love's cliche and,

"let me grow old gracefully"

one utters in hopes of avoiding diapers

Aging is a disease not meant to be

great painters, some of the masters

portray God the Father as a white haired old man,

like michaelangelo, probably

since he is referred to as Ancient of Days

but no one has seen, nor can ever see the Father

indescribable light enthroned immortal invisible

save for the son so scripture's sages through ages say

means eternal one, the I AM to Moses said

simply complicated to finite flesh, blood flowing  minds

growing old, "wrinkled in time" corporeal helplessness

old folk's home demise . . .

i respectfully disagree with images of the Father as old

though pictorially pictured with hair white n' hoary by Michelangelo

who though himself painter genius cannot override scripture

Ageing is a disease

scientists - some scramble

like Pizarro to find the genetic fountain of youth

or Natalie Babbitt's, Tuck Everlasting

premise of a magic spring to drink,

to live, life eternal upon this earth

not I, but i'd die to be alive eternal

sure though, there's some who would love to live

upon this war torn earth forever as it presently is

son of God said: "whoever believes in me even though he dies will live forever"

Ageing is a disease, not meant to be
