He dipped his spoon into
Alphabet soup stuck it in his mouth and flipped the newspaper page He dipped it again his eye turned for him to look contained in the spoon white pasta letters floated therein and saw the word a*s he’d seen a and at not a concern but a*s never before he dismissed the word as a moment of fluke turned back to the page and read it some more swirled the soup to scramble the mix dipped the spoon in pulled it out slowly again And saw the word prose floating on red Overcome with some awe, what are the chances what is the point, what kind of genie a*s embled the letters of this primordial soup? He lay down the spoon back in the bowl thought about the article he had just read explaining to him how Life had begun: Amino acid solution rich, so delicious, methane, ammonia complex flavors, organic, yum yum! Self-replicating molecules all by themselves like genies assembled in sequence the DNA code all Life began like an alphabet soup “Besides stardust and dust, we are descendents of these, . . .” he pondered in awe Oceans of Earth eons ago cooked and created Us, out of primordial soup © 2015 RuseInex |
