You are My Kahlua I am Your Jameson

You are My Kahlua I am Your Jameson

A Poem by RuseInex
"

romantic metaphor playing off popular liquors

"
Sun goin’ down
California coast
sand dune
suite house
anniversary

this night is our
bar temptress

Kahlua served me your lips
on a resort suite at the beach

setting sun
me drunk on your coffee rum
You on my whiskey neat
passionately sipping

mixing

your tongue
with mine

Jameson serves
me,
your Mexican lover

your,
peaches and cream
white Russian/Irish
skin

edible, drinkable

mixer

atop mine,
brown,
coffee and cream
chaser

with our kisses

your brown liqueur swirled
in my mouth
made me crazy for you

lit a fire on your tongue
while we sat slowly drinking
each other’s eyes

sundown
intoxication
lover’s high

you wrapped in my arms
carried you across the floor

to our
lover’s bed
consummated our
spirits mix
as if for the first time
this 39th year
