Love Poem: 2012

Love Poem: 2012

A Poem by Robert Wilson
"

I think the title speaks for this one...

"
The blonde haired boy
With one eye and a twisted leg
Grasped his golden locket
And stared at the beautiful girl
Pictured inside
Her eyes were the color
Of a 20th century ocean
And her black hair caressed her shoulders
Like a lover
As her smile echoed beauty

The boy opened the door
And it fell of the hinges
As the roof of his house
Fell on the charred corpses
Of his family

He staggered on the sidewalk
Newly paved with the bones
Of a thousand dead children
Stumbling over disfigured people
Wandering aimlessly in search of shelter
Or any form of hope

She was in the corner of her room
Barely standing after the bomb
Her eyes were now the color
Of a junkie's piss
Her hair was charred off
Leaving dead skin to coat her sorrow
And her right arm was now just a shoulder
With nothing to caress it

He held her
While he kissed her bloody cheek
And they cherished everything they had
As they sat under the gray sky

Only you would think to compare the color of someone's eyes to a junkie's piss. It's just this side of "...eww." I don't know how you come up with it, but I'm so glad that you do. It's quite refreshing and something new for my eyes to play with. I like this poem. I really do. It was something entirely different. Even when I was reading it, it didn't turn out the way I expected it. I enjoyed the twists. I loved that despite everything, they had each other. Rather than focusing on their loss, they focused on and cherished what they had. Wonderfully done. Now excuse me while I go take care of this... Is someone chopping an onion? Yeah, that must be it.

WOW..You blow me away!
It was like listening to the new and hearing the things we wish never happen
I felt taken in by the boy and the girl he held so dear
My heart felt the burn,
:Her hair was charred off
Leaving dead skin to coat her sorrow
And her right arm was now just a shoulder
With nothing to caress it

Wow , A bomb shell write. Blow the hairs off my arms.=)
Great job
Can't wait to hear more

Sad, yet so romantic.
The last lines were filled with such emotion. This created a vivid picture in my mind (It's hard for a lot of poems to do that).
You did a spectacular job.

Bravo!

Very graphic in detail and sadly moving. I could picture the burnt black skin with cracks of blood red showing through in my mind, the blood coming from the ears from the shell blast. Only in my mind, the hair on the boy was black and there was a lot of sand around. War is hell.
