Darker Than Black

Darker Than Black

A Poem by Robert Wilson
"

About the loss of a good friend

"

The slate has been wiped clean
Dirtied by false promises and lies
Your words as useful as flies
And off the snow, does gleam
The sadness flowing like a stream
For the boy who follows, cries
As the trust between you dies
There is still a truth not seen
Your chest is a dead dove
Decaying from your self-hate
But still, he yearns for you so
Even in your psychotic state
Yet, since you know not to love
It's best to pack your bags and go

This is an extremely powerful piece.
To me, it could be written about losing anyone, best friend, family memeber...partner, such is the power in these words.
Excellantly written!
Keep it up

I like this..it seems more like when a child loses a parent through no fault of his own..like a divorce. My nephew followed his dad..as he shoved him away and walked out of the door..He cried..and lost all trust and faith in his dad in that one moment..people can really hurt others..sometimes not realizing just how much and how deep..good job,,God bless..Valentine

"Your chest is a dead dove
Decaying from your self-hate "

Love the metaphor here.
Love the metaphors used throughout the entire piece.
It's sad that things like this happen with friendships though.
But lies can do so much damage to even the most beautiful of things.

what a harsh dilemma. but all too true. things happen and words are said. but the truth is what needs to come out. lies are never good. good read
