If I Only Knew How…

Another love poem i wrote for school...

If I knew how to sing,
I would write you a song.
It would have to be sweet,
But not very long.

 

It would have to say you’re delicate,
Like a newly sprung rose.
It would have to say you’re beautiful,
From your head to your toes.

 

It would have to say you’re amazing,
But with a lot better words.
It would have to say you make my heart so happy,
It flies higher than the birds.

 

It would have to say you’re cherished,
Beyond all compare.
It would have to say something amazing,
To show you that I care.

 

If I knew how to dance,
I would spin you round and round.
I would hold you in my arms,
Then set you gently on the ground.

 

I would dance fast like a waterfall,
Or slow like a brook.
I would show off my moves,
Just to get you to look.

 

If I knew how to write,
I would write the worlds longest book.
It would be filled with great memories,
And trips that we took.

 

It would have all of our favorite hobbies,
And some of our old pastimes.
Its pages would be wrinkled,
Because I would read it so many times.

If I knew how to fly,
I would take you somewhere nice..
Somewhere warm and peaceful,
Or maybe someplace with ice.

 

I would take you up to the clouds,
Or maybe somewhere low.
To a place newly discovered,
Or a place from long ago.

 

If I could only let you know,
That my whole life with you I want to spend.
Until the very last days,
Until the very end.

 

I don’t know how I would tell you.
With my own words or a letter.
But someway, somehow.
You’d know you made my life better.

 

I want to tell you how I feel,
I want to tell you now.
I want to tell you that I love you,
If I only knew how…
