![]() Time is not the MasterA Story by Nathaniel Williams
The sun shone brightly on the grainy. Air filled with the sweetness of cherry blossom engulfs my nostrils I'm standing on a lonesome beach a place I've never visited before. My senses heightened as people passing by on the beach stare at me, wondering who I was. To their amazement I'm speechless staring back at them with no signs of interactions or engaging in conversation. All I wanted was peace and quiet it takes me back to England where I lived prior to moving here. The noise of cars, lorries, filled the air with exhaust fumes. Dogs barking, poo on the pavement as well as people passing eachother, people of all races rushing about doing their weekly, daily shopping, rushing to catch the bus to get to work on time. It's true to say time is never on your side, you are literally watching the clock. Even doing the washing up takes time over there. Now time is my own to do ever I wanted. I can walk from one village to the next, it's my choice to sit in the baking sun if its my desire to do so. That golden sun is worth every precious moment, it warms your heart no need to burn gas to heat the house up, no need for thick wooly jumpers and fluffy boots. There is no clocks on the beach time is not the master. Soothing sounds laughter, calmness and the sounds of nature is all I need.
