The Everlasting Moment

The Everlasting Moment

A Story by Egonarc
"

Never wanting to let this end. A Dream.

"
As I am curled in a ball; hugging a body pillow,
I cry, yet I am not awake.
A familiar touch comes in through the door,
And brushes they're hand through my hair.
I am now awake but my eyes stay shut.
They lifted me up and took the pillow away.
They now lay next to me,
embracing me.
My tears dry.
I can't help but smile.
They're voice softly, whispers,
"New you were awake".
My head moves to they'res
And my Eyes open to watch our lips touch.
We both smile.
Tilting to touch foreheads.
Smiling an everlasting smile.
Wishing the moment will last years to come.
It can not be forgotten.

As I walk down the hall; I can hear her crying,
I'm dreaming, but I am not asleep.
I walk in the door and see her clutching a body pillow,
I brush my hand through her hair
I think she's awake but she keeps her eyes shut.
I lift her up, and taker away her pillow, she doesn't need it anymore.
I lay down next to her,
embracing her, clinging to her,
Her tears have finally dried.
My heart skips a beat when I see her smile.
I whisper to her softly,
"Knew you were awake."
Her head moves to mine,
I close my eyes as our lips touch.
I can't help but smile.
We touch foreheads, we can't get close enough.
Smile a never ending smile.
Hoping the moment will last forever.
It can not be forgotten.
