Faith

Faith

A Poem by The Rainmaker
"

Never give up, no matter the pain, no matter the cost.

"
A harsh wind has taken up
Howling and wasting
Blowing in, from the darkest parts of my heart
A deathly gale, stripping away
Hope and desire, love and laughter

Leaving behind a ruined land
a desert waste, gray clouds always looming
Dry crack ground devoid of feeling
Where once stood monuments
My heart has crumbled into ash

My dreams, the weary traveler,
Who calls this hell his home,
Carries a staff to hold him high
A blanket to fight the cold of loneliness
And carries with him
A seed

The seed of hope.
For even in the dryest of lands
Where nothing has grown
The water of dreams coupled with this seed
The dedication of faith working the soil to a better life
Even the driest lands can take root
And forth will spring the lush forests
Of the love that never quit.

I really like how you moved from one stanza to the next, carrying along a piece of the old one, as one cohesive unit. It was choppy, and it worked so well with the idea, very much appreciated. Nice write!
