Don't Sit Under

Don't Sit Under

A Poem by The Rainmaker
"

With anyone else but me.

"
To take a bite,
Of the forgetful apple.
To watch it fade,
Into dim gray.

A fitful flight,
Into freezing cold,
Leave no hope.
No fleeting grasp,
Of a certain future.

Levels of intoxication,
The music,
Your smell.
Leaves me wondering.

If not me for you,
And not you for me,
A better present cannot be.

I like this. I've spent a bit of time trying to "figure out" what this poem is about...I interpreted it as someone who wants to forget that they are in love with someone else.
