A Thousand Times

A Thousand Times

A Poem by The Rainmaker
"

There are never numbers enough

"
A thousand times I'll call you
In name, in heart, in voice
To let you know, when were apart
You're still my one and only choice.

A thousand times I'll find you
From the world, from the mirror
I'll never stop searching
Until you are safe. You are here.

A thousand times I'll come running
When you need a guide
A person to lean your head on
A person to hear you cry.

A thousand times I'll hold you
When the night has settled in
When the waves of pain crash on the shores of despair
I'll promise you the sun will win.

A thousand times I'll kiss you
To let you know you're mine
Until the clockwork unravels
Straight through the end of time.

A thousand times I'll promise
All these words, I'll swear
A thousand time is never enough
To express the love I bear.

This seems like a song Celine Dion would sing. :) A very sentimental poem.

I especially like this line:
"A thousand times I'll hold you
When the night has settled in"

"waves of pain" is good, too, but I'm not sure that your promise that the
"sun will win" is the best contrast or word-image for it...The ocean rages on underneath the sunshine. Is there something to portray a love that transcends the waves?

The timing and meter of the poem could use some editing.

Overall, you're on the edge of something good, but right now it's somewhat cliche.
