Your Land

Your Land

A Poem by Buck Thomas

It’s thirty years later, as you look upon your land.
The blood and the sweat that gave you your brand.

You might have been frightened and might have been scared,
But never forget you were always prepared.
You sculpted this world to share your love,
To release the mourning as a beautiful dove.

It’s thirty years later, as you look upon your land,
I’d only be so lucky to be holding your hand.
