A Cynic's Call to Arms

A Cynic's Call to Arms

A Poem by Buck Thomas

The astonishing absence of anger, toward
bureaucratic bedwetters belittling,
the commentary of concerned citizens,
demanding a detente toward decorum.
Excercising enough emotion
for f*****g freedom, further
grants generous goodness
in honoring the humble helpers that
indispensably try and inhibit indecency
for justice. Justifying jeers,
kills kindness while keeping
loyalty and love left
mourning morality’s mortality.
Nefarious neglect of the nation,
with opaque openness offers only
persistent political paralysis.
The quagmire between quality and quackle,
reinforces the ridiculous reality
some supposed saints
tell the tailers with temerity of a
unequal utopia that undermines
values. Violent verbage
will weaken our world.
Xenophobic xenophobes fearing xenocracy.
Yearning for yesterday is yieldless.
