Dock

Dock

A Poem by Buck Thomas

Shaky water beats softly on the dock.
Flickering glow from the moon.
Salty air sits upon the sea.
Blankets cuddle the two from the cold.
A long day’s rhythm comes to a crawl.
Peace becomes the night.
An exchange of words encounter a silence.
A billowing jasmine tea breathed in.
Burning it down to be released.
The Gods whispering of souls.
Drawn closer from a biting breeze.
Wrapped together like a chain.
Never a moment to bare witness.
Time waits for serenity.
Nuzzling hearts beat as one.
