The beast named LoveA Poem by PoetryloverThe word on the street was "A beast named love is roaming around the streets. It will visit your place one day. What it will leave behind, Is a trial of unimaginable damage" Yesterday the beast visited my place. It was leaping. I gave him a shoulder to lean on But it stang it like a bee. Today the beast came again. Regret was written all over its face. "Forgive me" he pleaded. It was snowing and cold outside so i let him in. But i woke up frozen like a corpse in a morgue For he has destroyed my shelter. The beast named Love lures like a python, It keeps hostage like a mermaid, Stings hard like a bee, Kicks with the strength of an ostrich, And charges like an angry Bull, It will stamp you like an elephant does. And when it is done, It spits venom like a mamba. Tonight the beast visited my place Holding flowers with teeth sharper than a jaguar's. Its eyes lit like a wolf's, Chanting words of admiration, Blowing a melody with its trumpet. But tonight i kept my door closed and warmth to myself As i watched it fade away like mist towards the mountain tops. Date: 29-04-2020 © 2020 Poetrylover |
