Our Four Demises

Our Four Demises

A Poem by Kira
"

Humanity's first priority is self-preservation - nothing ranks higher and nothing ever will. See, from child-like eyes, the degeneration of humanity from its superior stance to the heedless rabble.

"

Our Four Demises

Upon the first of our demise

We tell the children to dry their eyes

Nothing to fear

I swear - no lies

Upon the first of our demise

Upon the second of our demise

We push and shove past those we despise

I want to live

I don't want to die

Upon the second of our demise

Upon the third of our demise

We forget our prayers and we forget our goodbyes

Trying to run

We never were wise

Upon the third of our demise

Upon the fourth of our demise

We surrender and shed our guise

No more selflessness

No time for "why"s

Upon the fourth of our demise

We delude

We hate

We surrender

We die

Humanity as is
