Let Down

Let Down

A Poem by Rudie Rock

My heart was blowing in the wind
until it found you.
You seemed to have caught it
but like a solar flare
you set it on fire then left me without a trace.
Now all there is left is the charred remains of all the progress I had made.
All my hopes crumbling to dust,
all because I was foolish enough to believe in trust.
Like removing an arrow from an infected wound,
twisting and turning in every direction.
It is a vicious cycle of affection,
and lack there of.
I listen to the crackle of white noise over the radio.
Always waiting for an answer that will never reach me.
I just want to know.
As the time drags on,
I am suffocating slowly.
I was left alone to drift aimlessly among the stars.
There is nothing here but my thoughts and fears.

I can totally relate to this and I can feel your pain. Trust is a big issue with me. Nice writing!
