High tide

High tide

A Poem by Rudi J.P. Lejaeghere
"

Never give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn. Harriet Beecher Stowe

"

The goodbye and speaking of it

 words

   that

stumble

over

lips

and are slipping away

with the high tide in the swallowing

down the curves of my throat

sentences without a verb

me

you

dear,

but do know

maybe for the last time

even if it was for the first

intensively sensitive

like guitar music or  homesickness

it sings in me like the strings

of friendship

far over the border

it tastes like a song

without understanding the feeling

of silence and still so much

to say that day

and now

remembering it again.

many a time I've gone down memory lane and wondered if something done or said may have changed the outcome of events that have brought me here today where i stand. the funny thing is whenever i need time to think I'll go to the beach, watching the tide roll in gives me peace of mind. excellent write and thank you for sharing.

it is tough to think back on what we wish we would have said...but didn't.

when the opportunity to express is there, we need to take it....otherwise, regrets will wash upon the shore of memory.

I really enjoyed this read Rudy.
I really liked how,
"
words
that

and are slipping away
with the high tide in the swallowing
down the curves of my throat

sentences without a verb

me
you
dear,"
gave me a picture of a wave coming onto shore then receding...

An emotional write that we can see ourselves in. Those tides that are ever changing and engulfing.
there is always a time to retreat and a time to move forward..

Thank you, Moonskittles, for reading and reviewing. Tide in our life are indeed like that. :) Rudi
You excelled here in terms of the complete ensemble Rudi. I wanted it to go on much longer. Such a sense of calm sadness imparted to the 'consumer', dare I say it. The writing is superb. Formatting too reminiscent of a shoreline. Spot on in all respects. Well done my friend.
