High tide

High tide

A Poem by Rudi J.P. Lejaeghere
"

Never give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn. Harriet Beecher Stowe

"

The goodbye and speaking of it

 words

   that

stumble

over

lips

and are slipping away

with the high tide in the swallowing

down the curves of my throat

sentences without a verb

me

you

dear,

but do know

maybe for the last time

even if it was for the first

intensively sensitive

like guitar music or  homesickness

it sings in me like the strings

of friendship

far over the border

it tastes like a song

without understanding the feeling

of silence and still so much

to say that day

and now

remembering it again.

many a time I've gone down memory lane and wondered if something done or said may have changed the outcome of events that have brought me here today where i stand. the funny thing is whenever i need time to think I'll go to the beach, watching the tide roll in gives me peace of mind. excellent write and thank you for sharing.

Rudi, your poetry is multi-layered. It is so true, as we grow older, we appreciate the moments in life we may have overlooked at a younger age. We know the meanings of things we could not grasp at a younger age. Memories are precious. Wonderful work. Lydi**

Thank you very much, Lydi. So true what you are saying. Really appreciated. :) Rudi
I have walked the timeline, hand in hand, with the sand slipping from under my feet, taking with it memories. I understand the music and the silence. I breathe the beach and reach for words riding away with the tide. Thanks for the journey.

Reminded me of the frailness of life and being there as friends and more - let go.

I did and you are welcome.
Our time here is ever fleeting. I believe the tide ebbs, to help us understand how precious life truly is. Your work is wonderful, and gives me cause to ponder, Rudi!
