Overseas

Overseas

A Poem by Rudi J.P. Lejaeghere
"

No matter how far a person can go the horizon is still way beyond you. Zora Neale Hurston

"

They’re sailing further overseas

thoughts sent away

in a handful of white

now and then

the wind is whispering

some of the words

and the waves are rumbling

through the verses

so far

so wide

so wild

I suspect them tomorrow

at the horizon

in the wave breakers

stranded on the beach

hear

how their rhymes rustle

in the shells

and on the sand.

Another wonderful piece in this series. Another piece that I can completely envision the surroundings described. This makes me want to go to a beach and enjoy the breeze. I've always loved the water and seeing how far it stretches, etc. Thanks for sharing this with me, Rudi :)

A lovely poetic piece
I can see a beautiful serene song being sung

While seeing a loved one walk away to be brushed in back again
Like a beautiful wave hitting shores
Maybe that's the beauty of love

I spend many hours on the sea, near the sea and gazing at the sea... it is a beautiful thing and your capture the movement of thoughts through word, line and stanza perfectly as the white caps that visit our shorelines from time to time.

This poem catches that magic of distance the sea implies even at your feet as it laps ashore.

You are welcome.
There is a soft serenity I find when I walk on the beach - and your poem has that same feeling...the ebb and flow of the tide, the whisper of the breeze, the salty ocean air...

Simple words woven in a tapestry of magic..
