Earthed

Earthed

A Poem by Rudi J.P. Lejaeghere
"

On earth there is no heaven, but there are pieces of it. Jules Renard

"

Feelings earthed, as the salt of my gentle tears

sublimating in a crystal abstracted from my eyes

so they spring to life, flowing out as they rise

as the flood of my sorrow, as the sum of my fears.

Feelings earthed, in the waterfalls sits a treasure isle

as the current splashes in this rainbow high

or broken and sometimes two to say goodbye

the sounds of the silence, a grin or a smile.

Feelings earthed, in the tenderness of my caressing

in the softness of your touch, in the thrill of the height

and the deep of your skin, in the heavenly unloading.

Feeling earthed, in departing from a life that was so fine

the days now shortened, and finally it’s only becoming

as it has to be, resting in that piece of earth that’s mine.

Thank you, Ana, for your nice comment. :) Rudi
This is a treasure hunt poem and the treasure map isn’t leading to the expected X’s marking the expected spots, not at all. All are good, but the first verse is a treasure of itself.

Rudi: First stanza is written so beautifully. It is the sum of all fears, death and regret. It flows so well, like all your poems, but always a little extra for the reader. You know you could never fail to disappoint. I could visualize the death of a love one, a child. The artwork is interesting. And then the departure to love, I suppose another heaven on earth, that belongs to you. Wonderful writing Rudi. Thanks...Dale

I love the vision that this placed in my head while reading it. I've always loved the earth and plants and this brought a whole new feeling of comfort and peace when it comes to these things. It has a sad tone to it but still I feel comforted. Thank you for sharing this with me, Rudi :)

So beautifully written, the connection between, being born, living and dying all brought to life in this Piece.

The miracle of birth (tears preside); the ebb and flow of water (life); and the peaceful rest in that final piece of earth from which Adam was made... all glimpses of heaven... well-done, Rudi!
