A look inside

A look inside

A Poem by Rudi J.P. Lejaeghere
"

Don't waste a minute not being happy. If one window closes, run to the next window- or break down a door. Brooke Shields

"

I was looking inside

through the window-frame

that was on a chink open

I don’t know if it was

just a coincidence

or less than intention

but without willing

I looked inside and saw

the table that gave me food

the chair which provided me peace

and took away my tiredness

I saw the cupboard

here I knew the candies were

and the boxes

where you kept the sweet and sour

beside the bottle of lemon genever

in the shining of the last light

I felt the warmth

leaving now the house

and the speaking vibrating

in the silence of your words.

Inside intraspectively, your feelings of peace were expressed, everything you needed was/is there in that place, why were you there, inside your mind filled with contentment; and then you leave the thought satisfied, filled once again, but the ending the vibrations of silence; left me wondering, in a good way. I like the way you write; the window seems to be the metaphor to your feelings for life, and having evry thing needed feeling contented. Thank you again Rudy. I enjoyed so much. Poetry 101 Tag.

Very positive piece . I do noticed the deep appreciation of things in life many take for granted . Even when sorrow and pain and loneliness besets the muse . It still chose to look at his circumstance with fortitude .

So nice to be able, from time to time, to stand outside yourself and look in.

There is always an opening that leads to happiness we can run through...if we truly want to. This was another stellar piece Rudi. Beautiful.

Another great piece of poetry from you Rudi. We should always look for another window or door if one is closed.

A outstanding quote and amazing poetry. I liked how you made your point.
"in the shining of the last light
I felt the warmth
leaving now the house
and the speaking vibrating
in the silence of your words."
The above lines left me with vision and question. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

Thank you Laura, glad you enjoyed it. They are thought about past and passed years. :) Rudi
An introspective feel. Depicted as a window opening. Thoughfull moments followed by the clear certainty of what nurtues you. All encompassed in your usual desire for painting a scene rather than fragments which will lead to intellectual thinking. Interesting the encounter of the last light and what it made you feel. As if you had departed or elevated through understanding into a different plane.

So many questions, so very few answers.

Thank You.
