Vision

Vision

A Poem by Rudi J.P. Lejaeghere
"

Vision is the art of seeing what is invisible to others. Jonathan Swift

"

I know it to be autumn

even before the falling

of the leaves

the grey of graylag goose

in rain volatile checked off,

the sea that is scattered in droplets

on the colour of patchwork quilt,

whispering between lanes and country roads

hear

through balding tree crowns

the wind shaves along his chilly breath

and unhindered he wins the battle

on the silence of the shortening days

it tick tacks on the roofs,

at the windowpane the sad story

of gusts of rain beckon at me,

at the horizon I can just imagine

the sun shedding tears in the clouds.

This is about changes to me, not the seasons. The quote about seeing, what is unseen, is perfected in the beautiful poetry. You are a wonderful writer - FACT!! I love this and learn so much from your writing, Rudi, I see the imagery beautifully. The ending is a killer. Thank you so much.

Same here in Michigan. The Geese and duck will be flying south and the cold days of Winter is coming. I enjoyed the description in the poem. I'm feeling the cold days here in Michigan now. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

You are a great poet Rudi, and I've noticed it in your poems, the way you write poems about nature, the vision, the way you relate it to life is just extraordinary.
Thank you for sharing Rudi...:)

Thank you ReDHeart, for taking time to read my poem. Have a nice day. :) Rudi
Nature poem -right? I wouldn't want to void Rene's warranty.

I like the geese - like birds in general. For decades of my life we saw Canada Geese twice a year and high overhead, in transit. Something changed somewhere, somehow, and now we have them all year in any location that has a wide mud puddle. I liked them better before.

Thank you Laura, have a good day. :) Rudi
love jonathan swift...and this poem...that sense of knowing what is coming long before it comes...but really it comes down to seeing the signs, being aware...

not much awareness in the world these days...poets seem to still have it.
i see it here.

A seasonal offering and as I'm first then I get to set the tone bcause I can gurantee that most of the comments for this writing will be in the direction of Nature. So I will go for something different. The fire - glo radiance getting ready for change and as such we need to create and embracing opening because the time for provision and frost / hail is coming. Time to come back in to engender from the inside out.

Thankyou Rudi
