DaybreakA Poem by Rudi J.P. LejaeghereA rare experience of a moment at daybreak, when something in nature seems to reveal all consciousness, cannot be explained at noon. Yet it is part of the day's unity. Charles IvesOn barefoot, yet before the day dressed up in dew and greeting the grass of gold and diamonds full, the tree with rainbows upon and around
the sand spinning out in grains, on my instep there’s a bit of daybreak and crusts from the night before
through my ear sounds the corn, the singing of the stalks, it’s the magpie that steals the light and is screeching in his flight of a whole new start.
