Autumn tale

Autumn tale

A Poem by Rudi J.P. Lejaeghere
"

Nature talks, but you have to listen close...'

"

It is the rain that tells

in droplets on the glass

of warmth and waves on the air,

the sighing of the cold layers

and clouds packed together

in the grey of nowadays,

It is the wind that whispers

in the roof and on the attic

of the sun far away,

how high and low

claim their rightful places

and make the storm blow hereafter,

It is the cold that secretly

plays the undercutter

and make us shiver from now on,

and works so well

on the cracking ice on the pond

where we yet not dare to stay on.

I will write something unusual
Nature sets our path
I recently discovered Fall is really the main one
Setting a tone for another year
contrary to common belief that it maybe winter
Or spring

The silent rain and change of color says it all
Lovely ,,,,,,, you inspired me

Right away you captured much of the spirit of autumn. (It might be my favorite season of the year)

The first two stanzas I understood very well, as well as most of the third, but I was left wondering what the last two lines might mean? It seems symbolic of some fear, but I'm not sure what

Some nice lines here:
- "of warmth and waves on the air the sighing of the cold layers"
- "how high and low claim there rightful places"

Your words bring back Autumn memories on my Grandparents farm - the cool breeze, the falling leaves, the icy pond that isn't quite icy enough yet....I wish we had Autumn here in California
