Hey Rudi, this is beautiful! An Italian sonnet, translated to English from Dutch; I would ignore meter too. Haha. The way you've written this, a poem making references to itself as a bottle of wine; makes this very fun to read. Thanks for sharing. Matt

I love the comparison of wine and poetry..
Love the entire poem but this verse is my favorite
There has to be an aftertaste, heavy or fine
its character, dark, handsome or full of mystery
tercets with a lesson or ending with a cute line
I love the way your mind works Rudi. You are a brilliant poet.

Now, I like the elegance put forth in this poem even though I am only a part time wine drinker. Rudi did Wine a service with his poem, I say, cheers! Now, I could feel the same experiential bliss opening a cold, icy can of R/C over crushed ice! Just like Heaven on Earth.

I love the poem
I can feel the taste
Smell and can see the color .....
I think poetry is White wine ..... clear ..... light ..... sweet smelling ..... fine
All the analogies here are so serene and very much alive

I do like white wine, but my favourite is the red Lusac-St.Emilion or a Lalande de Pomerol. They are two wines from satellite areas of two great wines, almost equal in quality and taste (my meaning of course) of the great names St Emilion and Pomerol, but not so expensive. Red as in passionate...fire...sensual...romantic. :) Rudi
a few a day will let the poet flow like the wine i'm sure Rudi, sadly for me its more likely to induce sleep but that's a cross i must bear i guess, Cheers! my friend, have a glass and write more such work, bravo :)

Thank you, Richard, I will. Thanks for the nice remarks. :) Rudi
Rudi; I do know it's very addictive so we must endure it's power and flavor and insanity, I'm not so sure, maybe a lot more questions. What a beautiful clever write, the way you delivered it building was simply devine, your power with a pen is a delight! I love your writings, you are so talented Rudi, wish I had another glass! Great work, like always, unique, bright, sweet, and quite a handsome write. Dale

Rudi: Shocked ---I remembered the red....great writing.
I agree my friend. I have been drinking more. Poetry need a taste of drink. I'm getting concern. Old age is coming and I done less than my father.
"a few glasses a day keeps me fit without misery
maybe one more, I do believe it’s so benign
although some say, it’s the start of a poet’s insanity."
Dryden, Jack London and Kosinski keep me sane. Their word teach me. I can and must read and write. Best writer once wrote. "If I saved one life with my words. I'm content with my writing". Thank you for the excellent poetry. Made me think tonight.

I'm from Belgium. English is not my native language, but I like to read English poems and books. I have written a lot of Dutch poems during the last forty years. With some of them I've got prizes in B.. more..
