I agree my friend. A life is like a garden. In the book "Being There" by Kosinski. He compared life to garden often.
"a good harvest it is, when you gather the fruit
the best and the sweetest, high from the sound
they will poetically enchant the spirits as good"
Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

This is a poem in the Italian sonnet form. It's a (free) translation of one of my Dutch poems. Being Belgian and my native language being Dutch I always write in Dutch and translate it afterwards. At my surprise, some poems even sound and 'are' better in English. :) Rudi

A wonderful comparison between crops and poetry. Both require good, fertile ground, constant nurturing and sound harvesting. There was a part that reminded me of Seamus Heaney's "Digging" in which his pen is his plough. But we must remember to continue to plant and harvest the best that we can and to not let the smallest hint of fame go to our heads. Nicely written, Rudi!

an excellent reminder to us, our work is worthwhile, we write to entertain and to release our thoughts, when we see the harvest of our labours in the fruits of praise, just remember to keep grounded not to become the next great celebrity, move on and plant the next crop of worth, great poem Rudi, I guess if I ever achieved fame from writing it would be the best for me to carry this poem in my heart and not lose my head but of course fame is unlikely so i'll hold on to your words......just in case :)

Very well said, Richard and thank you for your kind words. :) Rudi
when you gather the best and sweetest words, they grow enchanted poems....but if we get vain as poets...the harvest will be ruined, and the words slain.
love this piece.

Thank you, Jacob, for your nice comment. Have a good day. :) Rudi
another great poem, i really like the concept the first 2 lines give the essense of the poem
"A good poem starts the same way as a young plant
his roots firmly burrowed in fertile grounds"
these lines are like golden nugget really awesome poem.
