I'm breaking in

I'm breaking in

A Poem by Rudi J.P. Lejaeghere
"

A brave man is a man who dares to look the Devil in the face and tell him he is a Devil. James A. Garfield

"

To hide from the devil

in a shadow, in a corner

searching for a way out

a flight in my thoughts

I’m turning myself inside out

losing the essence

as a needle in the haystack

I push myself, backwards

and further if it is necessary

the beast with the horns

is roaring and cursing

he’s ripping the heaven apart

with his lightning as never before

I’m nothing more now

then a piece of dust

an ounce of air

a sigh and less

an atom on the run

I split myself even further on

in light and energy

and look and look

the monster shakes his head

I’m breaking in

or is it contrariwise

explode in thousand pieces

and with me he has forever

disappeared.

Man vs himself - the greatest of all conflicts, the one we have internally. Sometimes to destroy the 'devil' inside we must also destroy 'ourselves', or at least what once was ourselves. An interesting write of one's battle with personal demons. Good job Rudi!

Such a strong piece to go with such a powerful photo! To fight our inner demons. I walsy say we are our own worst enemies. You can feel the struggle throughout this piece. Another great write!

Rudi: The inner demon I suppose...the righteous part of our soul forever searching but tempted, even with our thoughts....but really: as you say...maybe I'm taking it the wrong way, but in the scheme of "things" in our universe, were are so tiny...fleeting thoughts..love your descriptions: like a needle in a haystack...Wonderful as always...Thank you so very much.
