Obliterated

Obliterated

A Poem by Rudi J.P. Lejaeghere
"

Those who try to obliterate the past are injuring the present. Helen Dunmore

"

The day has been salvaged

on the end of the lane

in the distance between the trees

the moon is writing his life

of going up and under

by the wave on the beach

flowed out in channels

a mystery drawing

is scratched in the sand

painting the mainland

in tides of high and low

with shadow and light

by clouds obliterated

she’s  fainting away

as the stars and the dark

of the heaven

it’s early in the morning.

The things we try to obliterate from our lives are often the things that fuel us to move forward. While I never dwell on or live in the past, I do remind myself of where I have been. Great write Rudi - got me thinking about all those things that make me who i am, good and bad.

it's early in the morning and do we remember last night?

should we?

the memories can be such that we want to destroy the memories, but remember, they are all part of what we are when the new days dawn.

nicely done.
