The first stanza of this is a poem unto itself, a perfect image. But, then I am lost. A sentence haunts you but you do not tell me what the sentence is! How am I to know the sound of the vowels? The water, so simple and straightforward in the first stanza has changed its meaning. It is more than it was but I do not know what. Is the water calling you back to the basis of the world, the center of yourself, away from the crowd of fools? It seems to hang on the haunting sentence but you do not tell me what the sentence is!

They have a language, but I don't understand it, it haunts me and sometimes I imagine hearing some words without meaning, on other times I just hear vowels and I try to imitate them, maybe they will understand a fool like me whispering to them and they will draw me in. :) Rudi

So, no one knows. Only those, who speak a language of their own and leave us to wonder. Lovely.
Water does bring life and all of nature must bow before it's power. It is the life giving element in our lives. It is a constant with can not live without. Well penned my friend.
I am drawn to water, the ocean, a river..there is something soothing about the sound, the feel, the ebb and flow of tide. Your words took me to a lovely place Rudi
This struck me, bringing back a memory of mid Wales. Standing by a rushing torrent that flowed over a small weir, a natural rock weir and the flow was powerful into a deep pool. I had this overwhelming urge to jump into the pool, but did not how dangerous this would be, and so I stood for a full ten minutes by that weir. The water called me that day almost irresistible in its call to me.
he sound is in the vowels
in the end, I’m joining in
just like a fool between idiots
I’m whispering back
and the water calls me
irrevocable within.....
loved these lines...great work...:))

The great description took me to good places and thoughts. Good to pay attention to the sound of nature and water. So much to see if we open our eyes. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
