Over sea

Over sea

A Poem by Rudi J.P. Lejaeghere
"

Poetry is the rhythmical creation of beauty in words. Edgar Allan Poe

"

They're sailing further over sea

thoughts sent away

in a handful of white

now and then

the wind is whispering

some of the words

and the waves are rumbling

through the verses

so far

so wide

so wild

I suspect them tomorrow

at the horizon

in the wave breakers

stranded on the beach

hear

how their rhymes rustle

in the shells

and on the sand.

Merry Christmas and a happy new year.

Well, what did you expect when you marked your thoughts on that handful of white and send them far and wide and wild? What could they do? Come back to you? Be stolen by a mermaid, fair, and hidden 'neath the pillow, where she rests her purple hair? Be grabbed by crabs? Be pulled apart by pelicans? Be ripped up by rip tides? Hidden in tide pools? Stuffed into a wayward bottle to keep a genie company? - Oh, silly me! I have been sitting here in the shells and on the sand listening to the rhymes rustle, reading your poem again and again and getting way too carried away! An enjoyable and inspiring piece. Thank you.

Oh, I'm so glad, Julie. Merry Christmas to you too and a happy new year. :) Rudi
Even the ocean and its waves send gifts and tokens and messages left in the sands . First time I have seen or read someone uses the theme to illustrate Christmas . Even creations know how to give gifts .

This is a beautiful poem. Christmas is not always about snow. Here it is white with those beautiful white sands. To think there are so many people on the salt sea even today, traveling somewhere exotic for Christmas, or living in this climates

Oh you got me here Rudi. I'm not sure that I can explain it with clarity but the beggining of it sent imagination way into the future, one were someone the most inspirational things are possible. Were semanticism itself awaits for the visit of the hopeful one, the honest ones, the ones that have commited for meaning, "come as you are" we the words will identify if you find us.

The melancholy if indeed that is what I mean is very comforting.

Thank You.
