Under the old cherry tree

Under the old cherry tree

A Poem by Rudi J.P. Lejaeghere
"

I want to do to you what spring does with the cherry trees. Pablo Neruda

"

High in the sky

white lines write

direction into the blue.

Sounds glide along

here and there

passing around me.

A swallow flies by

and away again

out of the stables

of my neighbour.

Stayed with me at home

kitty cat is purring

cosily at my feet.

The sun draws with shadow

an old cherry tree

on the new-mown grass.

And me, I’m daydreaming about the past

about the time his boughs

still carried cherries.

Your poems are so peaceful and beautiful.
You describe nature's beauty in such an enchanting and creative way! And put up something full of emotions in it.
I loved the last paragraph. Great job :)

I agree with Delmar. It is very pretty but....the last stanza is by far the best because, I think, it is personal, emotional. Good job, Rudi.

To me, it was all pretty but the last stanza was the poetry. Well done again.

a classic poetry

using the translator this is a pretty word very unlike the English 'minou ronronne' ....ronronne, means purring? very different! (if the translator is correct)
