My dog

I wake up

Mom is curled around me

Like a C

Like an S

my head is on her arm

I don't want to move

But I'm wiggly

Squiggly

I inch up

lick her arm

lick her ear

lick her nose

She moves

YAY!

'Ermph, Good morning Ruby Sue'

She said my name

Squiqqle

Wiggle

Can't help it

 I go roll on her head.

'what time is it?'

Time doesn't matter mom

Don't you know?

'Hello Hello Hello'

YAY!

It's our morning song!

Squiggle wiggle

Waggle Vaggle

Roll on her head

'OK time to get up.

Let's go have a pee.'

She opens the door and

I am so happy,

so excited.

Waggle vaggle

But...

I don't like the stairs.

My short legs and long body...

Sometimes I fall down and

then mom feels bad.

But I go

For her.

Then I hear the sounds...

rizzle drizzle....

Oh no.

I don't like rain.

Run back to the door.

It's my home.

It's safe in here.

'Come on girl.

Stay with me.'

OK mom, I will. 

For you.

Down the scary stairs.

Pause

But she is outside already

Stinky smoking thing sticking out of her mouth.

I hate those things.

I can see they hurt her.

'come on! go pee!'

So I go.

Quick pee and run back inside. 

Up the stairs.

Breakfast?

Can I have some of your ham?

Or egg?

Please?

Look I sit so pretty and so patient.

YAY!

Oh no.

Getting her coat

getting her purse

putting on make up.

Mom is going away again.

Will she die?

NO. Please mom.

Squiggle

Wiggle

She closes the door.

Sigh.

I can't...

I ....

I don't...

Back to the bed.

It smells like us.

Sleep until she gets home again.

She will come.

I know.
Now is just the waiting.

I think this is a very accurate perspective from Ruby's point of view. You must know her so well, you know her every little nuances. At the same time, all faithful dogs (and some faithful kitties too) behave in such a way. They'd go anywhere and endure anything with their owners. And they will wait patiently but also wretchedly for their owner to come back in fear of being abandoned. Sleeping helps the time go by a little faster indeed!

So cute! Seemed like a corgi to me, but maybe a dachshund. Not sure, but either way it was adorable. I enjoyed that it was told through the puppy's eyes, it gave it a unique flare for sure.

Yes, she is a dachshund. Ruby is my dog and I live in Korea, thus the name. Ruby Omma means Ruby's mom in Korean (It's on the back of all my sports team jerseys as my nickname The local folks at the stores don't know my name, they just call me Ruby Omma, it kind of stuck.
