RedA Poem by Ruby Isabel Sandoval
Red is the anger I held for you
After you kissed that drunk girl At your party, behind my back. Red as her two dollar lipstick Bleeding, smearing, staining, Residue left down your chin. The tips of your guilty ears Flooded in a blush when I ask So carefully, what you were Thinking. But I could never escape Your canela voice. Red is our resolve in the form of a gutted Watermelon, marrow exposed dotted with black, ripe like us Dizzy with dark infatuation, we forget to remember what we should have never let happen. © 2011 Ruby Isabel Sandoval |
