Nights of JuneA Poem by Ruby Isabel Sandoval
We spent sun burnt summer
On your old porch leaning Against the brick of your new House. My attraction to you As red as the inside of your Warm mouth, as thick as Mexican dirt wetted to a dull Rust. We shared plums and licked at our own stubby fingers Our advances on the hot Nights of June so tentative, the air, humid and erasing its self between our bodies as we Reached out for one another. Nothing ever,no never better Than that fleeting moment, our eyes closed and you grabbed Me like, for once, I mattered © 2011 Ruby Isabel Sandoval
