Whispers In The Wind

Whispers In The Wind

A Poem by Ruby Dodd
"

An green poem

"

I come from the country of the northern lights

I am the lonely breeze

First cousin to the old north wood

Do you hear me whisper to you?

I bring you this message!

The beautiful northern naked ladies are dying,
weeping as they go

Their salty tears cascade, flowing silently
across their ancient blue veined breasts,
caressed now by the too warm kiss
of the golden sun.

They weep for the lonely seals, the aged walrus
and the charming polar bear, those legendary
animals whose home is disappearing from
the land of the midnight sun

The embrace in which they hold each other
is becoming loose,as one by one they drift away
to join in the adventures of the great Atlantic.

To sail it's currents to the graveyards of the
dinosaurs and woolly mammoths.vanished for all time
sadly regaled to our picture book of lost things

They would have me bid you adieu !

You can save them you know !

They are alive, part of our universe,
they have always been here,

IF they vanish, it will be the children
who pay the price.
