Watcinng her SleepA Poem by Ruby DoddA Love PoemWatching Her Sleep
With stillness of heart, I stand right here Look down and watch you sleep Lost to this world in innocence My love for you runs deep Your hair lies tumbled, blond and so Locks falling here and there Hidden behind soft smoldering lids Are blue eyes - summer fair Your lips are softly smiling Like laughter's own playground Reminding me of angels There, dancing all around Soft hand with gentle fingers Beneath your cheek doth lie A cheek where sweet pink roses Bloom, never will they die Here in these purple moments That precede golden dawn I softly kiss you fond adieu Then slowly move along But, not before my love I place Red roses 'against blond hiar So you'll know when you waken My heart 's left lying there Although my eyes drip sadnes That I must step away I'm happy that just watching you Was my way to start this day When at last the day is over Then I will know again Stillness of heart at home with you My darling, lover, friend. We'll share a glass of red, red wine Then dance a dance or two I want to spend this evening Just proving I love you We'll make love on the milky way Pick stars up as we roam Let these roses sweet, remind you girl Of my plans, when I get home. © 2008 Ruby Dodd |
